Our History
From Pumping Specialists to Full M&E Service Providers
With over 30 years of experience, Willow Pumps has grown from a dedicated pump solutions provider into a trusted name in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services. What began with pump station design, installation, maintenance, and repair has evolved into a comprehensive ‘water in, waste out’ service offering.
As part of our continued growth, we’ve expanded into drainage solutions and built a large, versatile tanker fleet to handle both planned works and emergency response. Today, we proudly offer end-to-end solutions for water, wastewater, drainage, and infrastructure support across the UK.
At the core of everything we do is a commitment to health & safety compliance and delivering work to the highest industry standards. We are FORS accredited and place a strong emphasis on audited accreditations, giving our clients peace of mind that every project is delivered safely, responsibly, and in full regulatory compliance.
With nationwide coverage, experienced teams, and robust systems in place, one call is all it takes—we’ll take care of it all.

1992
Where It All Began
Willow Pumps was established by Ian Lawrence and operated as a proud family-run business until 2019. From the outset, the company specialised in pump solutions and maintenance services, guided by strong family values that continue to influence our culture today. This foundation of trust, service excellence, and innovation laid the groundwork for the growth and customer-focused approach that still defines Willow Pumps.

2016
Expanding Drainage Capabilities
In 2016, the acquisition of our first HGV combination tanker marked a key milestone in expanding our in-house drainage services. Since then, our fleet has grown to include a wide range of 3,000L, 4,000L, and 6,600L tankers, along with fully equipped van packs to support efficient and responsive operations.
Our transport operations are underpinned by a strong commitment to safety and compliance, supported by our FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) accreditation—demonstrating our dedication to maintaining the highest industry standards.

2018
Expansion into Clean Water Services & Northern Growth
In 2018, we broadened our service offering with the launch of our Building Services division, expanding into clean water solutions such as booster pump systems and cold water storage tanks. This strategic growth enabled us to provide a more comprehensive M&E service across both clean and wastewater sectors.
To further strengthen our UK-wide coverage, we also established a Northern depot in Wetherby, enhancing our ability to deliver responsive, local support to customers across the North of England.

2019
Strategic Partnership & Expansion into Wastewater Treatment
In 2019, Willow Pumps became part of the Franchise Brands Group, forming strong partnerships with Metro Rod and Metro Plumb to deliver more integrated and efficient service offerings across water, waste, and drainage.
That same year, we expanded our wastewater capabilities by launching a dedicated Wastewater Treatment Division, focused on the design, installation, and maintenance of sewage treatment plants and associated infrastructure—further strengthening our end-to-end wastewater solutions.

2022
Investment in Talent & Launch of Special Projects Division
In 2022, Willow Pumps reinforced its commitment to developing industry-leading expertise with the launch of our national Pump Training School, designed to upskill our in-house teams and support the growth of qualified pump engineers across the Franchise Brands Group.
That same year, we introduced our Special Projects Division, dedicated to the delivery of complex, large-scale M&E infrastructure projects—enhancing our capability to support major developments with bespoke, end-to-end solutions.

2023
Full Turnkey Installation Successfully Delivered
In 2023, our Supply & Installation Division achieved a significant milestone by completing its first fully integrated “one-stop-shop” installation of a Sewers for Adoption (SFA) pump station. This comprehensive project included all associated civil works, marking a key step in delivering truly end-to-end solutions for our clients.

2024
Enhanced Efficiency Through Group Integration
In 2024, we successfully integrated group pump services from our sister brands into Willow Pumps, aligning our operations with the One Franchise Brands initiative. This strategic integration has streamlined processes and enhanced operational efficiency, enabling us to deliver even more seamless and effective solutions to our clients.

2025
Delivering Comprehensive Solutions and Major Projects Ahead
In 2025, we are poised to deliver our first multi-million-pound projects, thanks to a collaborative effort between our Special Projects and Supply & Installation divisions. As we continue to grow and evolve, we now offer complete end-to-end solutions—from the design and installation of pump stations to drainage services and ongoing maintenance. Supported by a nationwide team and specialised divisions, we are committed to providing seamless, comprehensive service for all our customers.
